Stories from Home Workshops and Performances in Taos, NM

Wildflower Playhouse and Taos Center for the Arts recently hosted Yvonne Montoya and the Stories from Home dancers in Taos, NM, for a series of workshops and performances that celebrated New Mexican stories and experiences.

The workshops, which were open to the public, provided an opportunity for the community to engage directly with the artistry and creativity of the performers. From mastering modern dance techniques to delving into the art of writing, participants immersed themselves in a range of activities that explored the intersection of movement and storytelling.

Wednesday, April 10th @ The Wildflower Playhouse:

4:15-6:15 pm: Modern Dance Technique Master Dance Class

6:30-8:00 pm: Writing Workshop

Thursday, April 11th @ The Wildflower Playhouse:

4:30-7:00 pm: Dance + Choreography Workshop

Friday, April 12th @ Taos High School (FREE & Open to Youth, Registration Required):

12:00-1:00 pm: Writing Workshop

1:00-2:00 pm: Modern Dance and Technique

2:00-3:00 pm: Choreography Rehearsal and Run-through


Friday, April 12th Performance @ Wildflower Playhouse:

7:00 pm Show

Final Performance @ TCA:

Sunday, April 21st, 6:00 pm

The culmination of these workshops and rehearsals was showcased in two mesmerizing performances, where audiences were treated to the culmination of the dancers' efforts. From the expressive movements to the evocative storytelling, each moment on stage was a testament to the power of art to unite and inspire.
