Stories from Home: COVID-19 Addendum at ASU Gammage

I am excited to invite you to our upcoming free and virtual performance! Join us on Tuesday April 6 @ 7pm AZ time for a performance of Stories from Home: COVID-19 Addendum dance film series presented by ASU Gammage. The dance film series, Stories From Home: COVID-19 Addendum emerged as a response to the pandemic, experiences of social isolation, and quarantine. The films exemplify personal and nuanced stories from the home while sharing embodied testimonials of family, love, loneliness, and inevitable change in the era of COVID-19. Stories from Home: COVID-19 Addendum dance film series is an evolution of and supplement to the full-length Stories from Home work, integrating new choreography and ideas. The performance features dance films by Arizona-based Mexican immigrant and Mexican American dance artists and Stories from Home dancers Emigdio Arredondo-MartÃnez, Ruby Morales, and Steve Rosales. The performance will also feature a dance film from my Motherhood and the Performing Arts project choreographed by me and my son Buddy.
The performance will be followed by a Q&A. We would love to see you there! Stories from Home: COVID-19 Addendum is made possible, in part, due to the financial support from the following organizations and programs: MAP Fund 2020 supported by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Dance/USA Fellowships to Artists and Safos Dance Theatre.
