Stories from Home at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art

In a recent collaboration that brought together the dynamic world of dance and contemporary art, the cast of Stories form Home had the distinct honor of performing at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) last December.

I joined dancers Ruby Morales and Esteban Rosales and we performed two dances from Stories form Home. The dances were staged in dialogue with Christina Fernandez's exhibition Multiple Exposures.

This artistic synergy created a multifaceted experience, where dance became a visual extension of the exhibited artworks. The dialogue between different art forms sparked conversations that transcended traditional boundaries.

Immediately following the performance was a dialogue between Christina Fernandez, and Arizona artists Ammi Robles Lizarranga, and Amanda Mollindo.

Stories form Home at SMoCA opens doors to new ways of experiencing and interpreting art, encouraging audiences to engage with creative endeavors on multiple levels. And gave us a chance to stay true to historical Southwest dance aesthetics and perform outside a theatre.

Thank you SMoCA for the invitation!
